Seattle is a beautiful city. Surrounded on both sides by water and mountains, it’s a paradise for quick getaways—especially during summer.
There is so much activity on the lake during summer, there is really no better way to spend a couple hours than to go cruise past the houseboats, watch float planes take off and land, dodge kayakers and watch paddle boarders get toppled by the wakes of larger boats.
The boats aren’t especially quick, they are really built more for relaxing, sight-seeing, and water-top picnics. Sometimes that’s all you need.
Stop by Delaurenti, located in Pike’s Place Market and grab a bottle of wine, a cheese and meat plate and relax while looking out at the space needle or the aurora bridge or relive the 90’s by cruising past Sleepless in Seattle houseboat.
They offer standard boats for $125 per hour. The standard boats seat ten people, have a top cruising speed of 6 MPH, include a stereo with Bluetooth capability, a table with cup holders, and optional heating.
They also offer luxury boats that seat twelve people and have a top cruising speed of 7 MPH, a deluxe surround sound stereo with Bluetooth capabilities, improved interior layout for additional room, optional heating and an improved power rudder drive system.
The Electric Boat Company also offers team building exercises, catered waterside meetings, and a cocktail hour for corporate or personal events.
They also feature “Clueless in Seattle” scavenger hunt where participants race around Lake Union searching for clues and solving riddles. You might want to brush up on your Seattle trivia knowledge by watching Sleepless in Seattle or swinging by the Museum of History and Industry, located a few minutes’ walk from the Electric Boat Company’s front doors.
It was a great time. It was a beautiful day and our kids loved it. It’s such a unique way to see the city skyline and we’d highly recommend the Electric Boat Company!
